Chromosome No. 7
Gene Type CDS (Protein coding)
Has Phenotype no
Description Early auxin responsive gene. Aux/IAA genes encode short-lived transcriptional factors that act to repress the expression of early auxin response genes when auxin concentrations are low.
Curator Comment Relative mRNA levels of iaa24 is at its highest in flowers and etioloated shoots, Callus, it is also present in the callus and green shoots, and at lower levels in the roots. Relative mRNA levels are extremely low in green shoots and flowers. There is approximately a 5-fold increase in mRNA levels when coleoptile segments of 3-day-old etiolated seedlings are treated with 30 micro mols of 2,4-D in comparison to auxin depleted controls.
