Comment | The gene encodes for a membrane localized zinc ion (Zn2+) transporter. The mRNA expression was detected in roots of Zn containing as well as in Zn deficient growth media. The expression was several fold higher in shoots with a gradual increase from 0-96hr under Zn deficient conditions. The protein was localized in leaf sheath epidermis and vascular bundles.
