Description The trait was assayed for number of spikelets per panicle present on the primary
culm (main stem). For the assay, panicle from the primary culm was harvested 50
days after flowering and dried in a well-ventilated room for 2 weeks. Single
marker regressions were used to detect the association between markers and each
trait using qGENE software. Significant differences (P<0.05) in marker class
means were interpreted as likely linkage of each trait to the marker locus.
