E.C. Numbers (0)
Pathway Reactions (2)
Chromosome No. 1
Gene Type CDS (Protein coding)
Has Phenotype no
Description Early auxin responsive gene. Aux/IAA genes encode short-lived transcriptional factors that act to repress the expression of early auxin response genes when auxin concentrations are low.
Curator Comment The highest relative mRNA levels of iaa2 are found in the flowers and callus. mRNA levels increase by around 50% when coleoptile segments of 3-day-old etiolated seedlings are treated with 30 micro mols 2,4-D in comparison to auxin.
