Comments | Relative root length was assayed to evaluate phenotypic variation in Aluminium tolerance. It was measured as the ratio of the maximum root length under Aluminium stress divided by the maximum root length in the control. The maximum root length was calculated as an average of the greatest length and the second greater length root of each plant. It was measured for the parents and the entire population lines after stress for 2 weeks. The variation in RRL at the 2nd week after stress across the population, and the molecular markers linked to the putative QTLs, were analyzed by Qgene. The threshold for declaring a putative QTL for Al tolerance was LOD >2.4. It is an epistatic loci for Relative root length QTL (feature accession ID: CQL8) on chr-8. It contributes about 8% of total variation. |
