QTL Accession ID CQF4
Species Oryza sativa (Rice) [ GR_tax:013681 ]
Trait Symbol LFNICN
Trait Name leaf nitrogen content
Published Symbol
Trait Synonym(s) total leaf content
Trait Category Biochemical
Chromosome 2
Comments Total leaf nitrogen content was determined by CN-Corder (Yanaco Co. Japan) by using the leaf samples oven-dried at 80C for 3 days. The analysis was done on contents derived from leaf tissue collected 5 days after heading. The means of ten replications per line were used in the data analysis. Chromosomal locations of putative QTLs were determined by single-factor analysis (one-way ANOVA) with the general linear model procedure of QGENE. A probability level of 0.01 was used as the threshold for detecting significant differences at P < 0.005 in the mean values of the two genotypic classes, homozygous for Nipponbare and Kasalath alleles. The means of ten replications per line were used in the data analysis. Phenotypic effect contributed by Nipponbare allele. Chromosomal locations of putative QTLs were determined by single-factor analysis (one-way ANOVA) with the general linear model procedure of QGENE. A probability level of 0.01 was used as the threshold for detecting significant differences in the mean values of the two genotypic classes, homozygous for Nipponbare and Kasalath alleles. Leaf nitrogen contents were positively correlated with the soluble protein content (r=0.456; P<0.01) and Rubisco content (r=0.367; P<0.05).
