Description Like les4, but with many small to medium, irregular, mottled spots. Dominant
Les6, many small to medium-sized, irregularly shaped, chlorotic or pale green
spots (lesions), giving the whole leaf a mottled yellowish cast. Also fewer
scattered, medium sized, angular white necrotic lesions. Expresses on leaf blade
and sheath. More extreme in Mo20W background and at lower temperatures. First
expression at the 7-leaf stage. Genetic 2005 10 coordinates determined from
these recombination and map data: 10S; see MaizeGDB ID:935662. This gene was
originally curated in MaizeGDB Database and the map position was displayed on
