GRAMENE GENEGR:0200117
Type Gene
Species Zea mays subsp. mays (Maize) [ GR_tax:014546 ]
Germplasm
Description Collapsed floury endosperm; lethal; cultured embryos green. Small, floury,
collapsed kernel with endosperm of floury and some corneous starch; embryo
small, variably abnormal or degenerate; nonviable, although a few seeds may
germinate to produce green seedlings. Immature embryos are extremely difficult
to find and variable in size and development, ranging from transition phase to
Abbe and Stein (1954) stage 2 on some ears. In immature embryos from three ears
produced measurable seedlings. Genetic 2005 10 coordinates determined from these
recombination and map data: TB-10L19 dek15; see MaizeGDB ID:105596. This gene
was originally curated in MaizeGDB Database and the map position was displayed
on the maize bins map if feasible.
