Description Dominant Wc1 kernels have pale yellow endosperm if Y1 (pearly white with y1);
whiteness is emphasized in soft-starch crowns. Dominant Wc1 kernel with white
crown and pale yellow endosperm. Relates to the color of the crown and not to
its presence or absence. Dosage effect, with 3-dose kernels being whitest and
fewer does producing progressively more yellow crowns. Classification poor,
except in certain dent stocks. Genetic 2005 9 coordinates determined from these
recombination and map data: npi97b -31- wc1 (?); bk2 -5- v30 -19- wc1 -16- bf1;
