Description Like d1, plant short and compact; "d2" mutation(s) are allelic (d2 is lapsed).
Like d1, plant short and compact with short broad erect dark green leaves
resulting from shortened internodes. Allelism of d2 stocks at COOP and in other
labs, including Phinney's, with d3 stocks shows d2 not at a different locus
(Phinney, Stinard, personal communications 16 Feb 96), so d2 is lapsed.
Transcript observed in roots, developing leaves, vegetative meristem and
suspension culture cells (R. Winkler). Genetic 2005 9 coordinates determined
from these recombination and map data: wx1 -4- d3 -1- rf2; d3 -3.6- bnl5.10; wx1-2-d3-2.5-
bnl7.24a; wx1 d3 TB-9Sd; see MaizeGDB ID:934708; 60297; 111843; 134860. This
gene was originally curated in MaizeGDB Database and the map position was
displayed on the maize bins map if feasible.
