Description Affects CO2 fixation, Rubisco; green seedling. Like hcf11, except virescent
(delayed greening), becoming nearly normal if greening is rapid. Primary
deficiency, when pale green, in CO2-fixation; fluorescence induction kinetics
class II (Miles and Randall 1983; Miles 1980, 1982). Uncovered by TB-5La (Miles
et al. 1985). Classification: hcf trait, poor; virescent trait, very good.
Viability: variable, can sometimes survive to tassel stage, producing an ear.
