GRAMENE GENEGR:0204672
Type Gene
Species Zea mays subsp. mays (Maize) [ GR_tax:014546 ]
Germplasm
Description Ear fasciated, broadened and flattened at the tip; rows irregular; similar to
CLAVATA 2 of Arabidopsis thaliana. All fasciated ear mutants were originally
abbreviated 'fae#' but have been changed to 'fea#.' This is to minimize
confusion with the Arabidopsis fatty acid elongation1 (fae1) reported in The
Plant Cell
(1995) by James, Lim, Keller, Plooy, Ralston, and Dooner. This
gene was originally curated in MaizeGDB Database and the map position was
displayed on the maize bins map if feasible.
