Description Allele Tcb1-s has both pollen and pistil effects and prevents weedy teosinte
from being fertilized by maize; Tcb1-m has only pollen effects; alleles tcb1-
W22 and tcb1-Nobogame have no effect on either. Barrier to crossing of maize
onto Central Plateau teosinte - transferred to maize with linked positive
modifiers, fails to accept any pollen, including Ga1-s. Attenuated Tcb1, with
positive modifiers absent, more receptive to Ga1-s. This gene was originally
curated in MaizeGDB Database and the map position was displayed on the maize
bins map if feasible.
