The mapping population was derived from a backcross between cultivated rice, Oryza sativa, and its wild African relative, Oryza longistaminata. This is an updated version of the Cornell RFLP 1994 map reported in Causse et al., 1994 and revised in Wilson et al., 1999. Of the original 113 plants, 19 individuals were found to have more than 45% missing data; these individuals were not included in constructing this updated map. The map was generated using MAPMAKER with a LOD threshold of 2.5. Centromere positions were estimated from Singh et al. (1996) and Cheng et al. (2001).
