Description:

The mapping population is a set of 106 backcross-inbred lines (BC1F4 derived from a cross between Akihikari x IRAT109. IRAT109 is a tropical japonica rice cultivar, whereas Akihikari is a temperate japonica variety. From 650 SSR markers used for parental survey, a subset of 112 markers has been selected and mapped, providing a genetic map with a total genetic distance of 1437 cM, with an average marker distance of 14.6 cM.
