Description Semi-dominant, Tlr1/Tlr1 plants show extreme tillering; Tlr1/tlr1 show some
tillering. Semi-dominant Tlr1 plants show extreme tillering (as homozyous
Tlr/Tlr) on non-tillering stocks, extra tillers on others. Heterozygote has 2
to 4 tillers and normal tassels and has smaller ear with staminate tip and
long shank. Homozygote more extreme, like tb1, with grassy tillers, many small
primitive ears, and single-spike tassels. Linkage data showing association
with tb1, not clear. Genetic 2005 1 coordinates determined from these
recombination and map data: 1L; see MaizeGDB ID:9017628. This gene was
originally curated in MaizeGDB Database and the map position was displayed on
the maize bins map if feasible.
