Description Short, zigzag plants with warty, distorted sheaths and leaves. Ligule
disorganization. Leaves curled and distorted, with protuberances and other
growth anomalies on sheath and auricle region. Plants short with zigzag culm
that bends back and forth at nodes. In extreme cases plant highly contorted.
Sometimes forms extra leaves with normal midrib but rudimentary lamina, attached
opposite the main leaf at that node, or thread-like. Tassels tend to be compact
and overly branched. (P. Becraft). Genetic 2005 1 coordinates determined from
