GRAMENE GENEGR:0200295
Type Gene
Species Zea mays subsp. mays (Maize) [ GR_tax:014546 ]
Germplasm
Description Dominant Les2 plants have small white lesions resembling disease lesions formed
by fungal infections on resistant lines. Lesions begin to form at the 2- to 3-
leaf stage. Few to many lesions are formed depending on temperature and genetic
background. Expression poor in Mo20W and at low temperatures; best in selected
genetic backgrounds and at high temperatures. Genetic 2005 1 coordinates
determined from these recombination and map data: (les2 -1- sr1) 1986; see
MaizeGDB ID:58467. This gene was originally curated in MaizeGDB Database and the
map position was displayed on the maize bins map if feasible.
