GRAMENE GENEGR:0200757
Type Gene
Species Zea mays subsp. mays (Maize) [ GR_tax:014546 ]
Germplasm
Description Endosperm etched; seedlings off-white albino, with occasional greening of
leaf tips. Mutant kernels have etched/pitted endosperms, and are smaller than
normal. Mutant kernels give rise to albino seedlings that have a slight
amount of greening at the leaf tips. Seedling lethal. Classification by
kernel is very good; seedling is excellent. (P. Stinard) Some seedlings show
fine, green revertant sectors, stable forms have been derived. From Mu
screening plot. Uncovered by Tb-2Sb. Occasional revertant sectors. Genetic
2005 2 coordinates determined from these recombination and map data: lg1 -15-
gl2 -20- et2; et2 TB-2Sb; see MaizeGDB ID:304600; 142737. This gene was
originally curated in MaizeGDB Database and the map position was displayed on
the maize bins map if feasible.
