Description cDNA sequence; protein co-immunoprecipitates with G-box binding complex but
does not bind to DNA;low copy number. Contains a region resembling a bZIP, has
acidic carboxy and amino termini, amino termini form amphipathic alpha-helix;
homologous to mammalian brain 14-3-3 protein, beta chain and KCIP, an inhibitor
of protein kinase C. Protein present predominantly in kernel and root,
transcripts in seedling leaf, stem and root; in mature plant, not in leaf, but
in stem, node, tassel, silk, kernel, cob, root. This gene was originally
curated in MaizeGDB Database and the map position was displayed on the maize
bins map if feasible.
