Description Mapping population: 145 RILs derived from a cross between maize F-2 and Io. 152
RFLP marker were used in the experiment. The field and greenhouse experiments
were carried out in Montpellier, France. Sowing dates were May 20 and July 5,
1999 for the field and March 10 and June 10, 2000 for the greenhouse
experiments. The slope of the response of elongation rate to predawn leaf water
potential was measured on 4 plants per RIL. QTLs were determined by composite
interval mapping using the linear regression, with research of epistatic
interactions. Presence of main effect QTLs was tested evry 5 cM between the 152
markers using multiple regression with the cofactors.
