ID 42508
Name DQC12 (QTL ACCESSION {description)
Synonyms (1) DQC12-PENTRTRO
TO TERM {descriptionTO:0000510 (penetrated to total root ratio)
Trait Namepenetrated to total root ratio
Trait SymbolPENTRTRO
Type QTL
Species Oryza sativa (Oryza sativa) [ GR_tax:013681 ]
Germplasm
Description Recombinant inbred lines derived from a cross of two drought-resistant
varieties, Bala and Azucena) were used for QTL mapping. Plants were planted in a
controlled environment room. Tiller number, total and penetrated root number and
the ratio of penetrated:total root number were evaluated 24 days after planting.
Root penetration ability was evaluated using a wax-petrolatum layer according to
Yu et al.(1995).For QTL analyses, mean values from the two runs were used. QTLs
were declared significant if single-marker regression gave a significance of 1%.
Positioning of QTLs was achieved by composite interval mapping, conducted using
the program QTLcartographer The pick of the QTL is located at 96 cM where 1 cM
above the marker, G45. The distance of the interval is not available. The
closest markers are RG171(above) and G39 (below) that far away from the pick.
Therefore the pick position 96 cM was used for both start and end features.
