ID 42
Name d8 (GENE SYMBOL)
Synonyms (1) dwarf plant8
GRAMENE GENEGR:0200107
Type Gene
Species Zea mays subsp. mays (Maize) [ GR_tax:014546 ]
Germplasm
Description Dominant D8 plants resemble d1; not responsive to gibberellins; (compare Mpl1,
probable allele). Mature anthers with good pollen present in most tassels but
pollen shedding is poor. Ears small, kernels viable, many partially developed
anthers between the kernels have no opportunity to shed but are fully viable.
Genetic 2005 1 coordinates determined from these recombination and map data:
"umc140 -0.9- Mu4-1 -1.8- (d8 bnl15.18 umc107) -0.4- phyA1; bz2 -13.8- d8 -2.5-
gs1; T1-3(5267)(1) d8 T1-3(5242); (d8, mpl1) -3- (adh1, lw1); see MaizeGDB
ID:136345; 60804; 165142; 165141.". This gene was originally curated in MaizeGDB
Database and the map position was displayed on the maize bins map if feasible.
