GRAMENE GENEGR:0200656
Type Gene
Species Zea mays subsp. mays (Maize) [ GR_tax:014546 ]
Germplasm
Description cDNA encodes a 1068 amino acid leaf protein; transgenic (E. coli) directs
sucrose phosphate synthesis. Worrell et al. 1991; isolated by PCR based on amino
acid sequence of purified maize sucrose phosphate synthase. Has weak amino acid
sequence homology to maize sucrose synthases. Genetic 2005 8 coordinates
determined from these recombination and map data: csu382b(cld) -2.5- sps1 -3-
bnl10.24b; see MaizeGDB ID:934707. This gene was originally curated in MaizeGDB
Database and the map position was displayed on the maize bins map if feasible.
