Description Reduced height, partial suppression of primary root growth, contorted leaves,
lethal. Lethal at 60 days; primary effect may be on cell division and vascular
tissue differentiation. Central stele of roots is highly disorganized. In
coleoptile sections: abnormal leaf initials; tracheary vessels and sieve tubes
are disorganzed; mesophyll parenchyma is irregular in shape, less vacuolated and
still dividing. (Gavazzi 1993). Genetic 2005 8 coordinates determined from these
recombination and map data: TB-8Lc des17; see MaizeGDB ID:139771. This gene was
