Description Dominant Les13 plants have frequent small to medium necrotic spots on leaf
blade, sheath and culm, appearing at the 5 leaf stage. Some of the necrotic
spots enlarge and coalesce to form long necrotic strips along leaf veins,
eventually spreading and causing senescence of the whole leaf. Mutant plants are
lighter green and 1/3 to 2/3 normal height. Genetic 2005 6 coordinates
determined from these recombination and map data: (les13 -11- T6-9b(L.10)); y1
-1- T6-9b(6L.1;9S.37) -6- pl1 -4-sm1; see MaizeGDB ID:165046; 315391. This gene
