Description (aka lbl1) seedling leaves narrow, thread-like, have difficulty in emerging; low
temperature enhances expression. Expressed as a clump of slender threads of leaf
tissue surrounding the germinating kernel below the surface of the ground.
Occasional plants that manage to emerge sometimes produce a functional tassel.
Absence of most of leaf blade leaving midrib and small amount of blade tissue.
Temperature sensitive; rgd1-lbl1 mutant expressed above 24C but not below 21C.
