GRAMENE GENEGR:0200741
Type Gene
Species Zea mays subsp. mays (Maize) [ GR_tax:014546 ]
Germplasm
Description Encodes protein with bZIP motif that binds to transcriptional enhancer sequences
(ocs-elements); gene specific probe; map location unclear. Map note in Shoemaker
(1992) indicates two cDNA clones obtained from L. Dennis, references Singh
(1990), and these map to two distinct loci (obf1, obf2). Singh (1990) describe
two cDNA's believed to be identical. Were these the clones used to map obf1 and
obf2? mRNA accumulates in young primary root, primary root tip, coleoptile; in
basal leaf tissue and shoot meristems. No introns,. Genetic 2005 1 coordinates
determined from these recombination and map data: p1 -16- obf1 -9- umc67a; see
MaizeGDB ID:140263. This gene was originally curated in MaizeGDB Database and
the map position was displayed on the maize bins map if feasible.
