Has Phenotype not curated
Description Like ms5; affected at microspore mitosis. Microsporogenesis is normal through the late-vacuolate microspore stage, at which time degradation appears to occur. Although microspore mitosis has not been observed, some degenerating microspores have been observed with two nucleus-like bodies present. Homozygous ms14 plants have been observed to extrude anthers that shed pollen in tiller tassels but not in main stalk tassels. (M. Albertsen). Genetic 2005 1 coordinates determined from these recombination and map data: (as1 -5- ms14); see MaizeGDB ID:60198. This gene was originally curated in MaizeGDB Database and the map position was displayed on the maize bins map if feasible.
