Species Oryza sativa (Rice) [ GR_tax:013681 ]
Accession GR:0020018
Gene Symbol iaa14
Gene Name indoleacetic acid 14
Synonyms (6)
E.C. Numbers (0)
Pathway Reactions (2)
Chromosome No. 3
Gene Type CDS (Protein coding)
Has Phenotype no
Description Early auxin responsive gene. Aux/IAA genes encode short-lived transcriptional factors that act to repress the expression of early auxin response genes when auxin concentrations are low.
Curator Comment Relative mRNA level of iaa14 is highest in the flower, it is also present in etioted and green shoots. Relative mRNA levels are extremely low/absent in rotts and callus. There is approximately a 4-fold increase in mRNA levels when coleoptile segments of 3-day-old etiolated seedlings are treated with 30 micro mols of 2,4-D in comparison to auxin depleted controls. Shares similarity with the sister gene iaa24.
