Gene Type Not classified
Has Phenotype not curated
Description (a.k.a. Ej1), dominant Isr1 plants have reduced expression of sr2 and other leaf-striping factors. Dominant Isr1 decreases striping and leaf width in sr1, sr2, j1, ij1 and possibly other chlorophyll striping mutations. Dosage-dependent action. Locus of Isr1 is duplicated in some complex R1 alleles, is present in the Lc1 duplication, and is deleted in r1-x1. Effect of null allele (isr1) is bolder broader stripes. Viability is good, some combinations are detrimental. (Kermicle). Genetic 2005 10 coordinates determined from these recombination and map data: (isr1 - r1); see MaizeGDB ID:9017337. This gene was originally curated in MaizeGDB Database and the map position was displayed on the maize bins map if feasible.
