Travel awards for international rice functional genomics symposium
Nov.10-12 2008 Korea.
Funding is available from the USDA to provide partial support for
graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior PIs working in US
institutions to attend the 6th International Symposium on Rice Functional
Genomics in Korea. This support can be used for registration fees, lodging
or airfare expenses. Applicants should register for the symposium at http://isrfg2008.com and submit abstracts before October 15th, and send their C.V., abstract, and cover letter with justification to V. Sundaresan, University of California, Davis (sundar@ucdavis.edu). Early application (before October 1st) is strongly encouraged as the funds are limited. Members of underrepresented groups and minorities wishing to attend this symposium are especially encouraged to apply.

Maize full-length cDNA Project is releasing the first set of full
insert sequences from >11,700 individual cDNA clones to the
community.[July 21,2008]
Maize full-length cDNA Project is releasing the first set of full insert
sequences from >11,700 individual cDNA clones to the community. Within two
week or so, those sequences will be appeared in Genbank. Meanwhile those
sequences are available from the URL http://www.maizecdna.org by clicking "Download
initial 11742 FLcDNAs". This is not a unique dataset and
contains some redundant sequences. The project team is still analyzing the
sequences and will add some annotation information later to the genbank records.
