Chromosome No. 4
Gene Type CDS (Protein coding)
Has Phenotype yes
Description The Tos17 insertion line ND7980 was observed for a strong viviparous mutant with wilty phenotype, displayed deficent abscisic acid level and almost no further increase in its levels upon drought. The gene encodes for enzyme, Zeaxanthin epoxidase that catalyzes the conversion of zeaxanthin to antheraxanthin and violaxanthin and is part of the Abscisic acid and xanthophyll biosynthesis pathways. It is a homolog of Arabidopsis gene ABA1 (AT5G67030).
