| Curator Comment | ckx2 is preferentially expressed in inflorescence meristems, flowers, leaves and culms. The expression of ckx2 is higher in Koshihikara than it is in other cultivars such as Habataki, NIL-Gn1a and 5150; this higher level of expression is correlated with a 21% increase in grain number. ckx2 is known to play a role in regulating cytokinin levels in the vascular system of developing culms. |
